KCCA 4-1 SC Villa

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions KCCA were in no forgiving mood as they thumped traditional rivals SC Villa 4-1 at Lugogo on Friday.

Youngster Joseph Kafumbe, Erisa Ssekisambu, Mustafa Kizza and Allan Okello were on the scoresheet as KCCA recovered from the 2-1 defeat to Mbarara City in fashion as a packed Lugogo.

The result sees KCCA go second on 29 points, seven behind leaders Vipers SC, who were boosted by an extra two points after winning a petition against Maroons.

They petitioned league authorities that Maroons fielded a suspended player in the 1-1 draw with them last Friday.

Back at Lugogo, Villa matched KCCA in the early exchanges but the hosts soon engaged gear and took the lead on 10 minutes through a Kafumbe close drive after Villa failed to clear their lines.

Ssekisambu’s probing run on the right ended with the Villa old boy strucking it in low off the upright to send KCCA into the half time break 2-0 up.

Kizza made it 3-0 on 62 minutes with a fine drive from distance that saw the ball bounce in past Saidi Keni.

Villa pulled one back when a well-planned free kick between Asuman Alishe and Derrick Ndahiro saw the latter drive it and the ball going in off Amir Kakomo’s foot.

But Okello snuffed out any potential Villa resurgence when he beat the visitors for pace and wit to place it low past Keni for their fourth of the evening.

Defeat for Villa, only their second in 15 matches, leaves them fourth on 27 points.
