KCCA and newly crowned league winners Express FC will be the representatives for Uganda at the CECAFA Kagame Cup this year.

Fufa confirmed that they have received an invitation from Cecafa.

“FUFA has received communication from CECAFA about the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup to be hosted in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania,” read part of the statement.

“Uganda will be represented by StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Express FC and Kagame Cup holders KCCA FC” FUFA confirmed in a statement.

The tournament will have 8 clubs as Atlabara Juba (South Sudan), Yanga (Tanzania), Azam (Tanzania), Le Messenger Ngozi (Burundi), APR (Rwanda), Tusker (Kenya) and Uganda’s duo of KCCA and Express.

The draw for the tourney will be conducted on Tuesday, 27th July 2021 and there will be two pools with four clubs in each group.

The championship kicks off on 1st August and will last for a fortnight.

KCCA are the defending champions after winning the title in 2019.
