Uganda’s representatives in the CAF Champions League have history in sight when they take on South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the pre-group stage of the 2017 competition.

The African champions won the first leg a week ago 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe stadium in Pretoria implying a 1-0 win will be enough to take the Ugandan champions to the group stages of the lucrative club competition, to become the first side in the nation to achieve the feat.

Coach Mike Mutebi sounded with optimism at the press briefing insisting his side are set for the biggest game of their lives.

“We are set,” he said in a presser. “The team has no concerns at all, the preparations have been smooth and we are ready for the game,” he added.

Like I have always said, the players must understand the game and the way we approach game situation will be important. We respect them (Sundowns) because they are defending champions but we shall play our way, keep possession, and create chances because we need to score

The Kasasiro have no injury concerns with midfielder Tom Masiko available for selection while Paul Mucureezi is also back after missing the first leg despite travelling with the team.

Old is gold centre forward is expected to lead the line again with Joseph Ochaya, Denis Okot, Habib Kavuma and Timothy Awany manning the backline.

For the visitors, there is no Khama Billiat again through injury and Pitso Mosimane, their coach has confirmed Denis Onyango is also out of the tie.
