KCCA FC vs Al Masry, 4pm Lugogo
KCCA go into Tuesday’s Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) match against Bright Stars looking to gauge their readiness ahead of the Caf Confederation Cup this Saturday.
And manager Mike Mutebi has ripped into his misfiring team after they drew their two previous league matches.
“The whole team is playing below 40 per cent and that is only offered in first half,” said Mutebi on Monday.
“We are not under pressure yet but we should not sit on our laurels because teams like Vipers, Villa, URA and Express are still in it,” he said yesterday.
KCCA trail SC Villa, who lead standings on 47 points, by four.
“People are looking at the match on Tuesday (today) but the bigger picture is Saturday (against Egypt’s Al Masry),” he added.
With only one goal and no win in the last five league matches, Bright Stars manager Fred Kajoba concedes it will be tough against KCCA at their backyard, Lugogo.
“We have not received salary for nine months and we are all mentally down,” Kajoba said.
At Kitende, fourth placed Vipers, reeling from the 1-0 defeat to Jinja SSS, face poor travellers Sadolin Paints.
“Ibrahim Kirya’s four-match winning run at URA will also be tested by Bul at Kakindu as they bid to hold onto their third place.
