KCCA FC have named Portuguese Sergio Daniel Moniz Tiraguil as their new manager on a two year contract.
The club confirmed the news in a statement released on Monday June 12 and that marks the end of Jackson Mayanja short tenure at Lugogo.
KCCA have been without a permanent coach since Morley Byekwaso threw in the towel after a 1-0 loss to Bright Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Mayanja, a legend at the club replaced former teammate Morley Byekwaso midway last season but failed to wrestle the league title from Vipers.
Sergio started his coaching career at Sports Lisboa e Benfica, where he was in charge of the club’s youth teams before joining Kaduna United in Nigeria.
He has also coached Heart of Oaks in Ghana, Singida Big Stars (Tanzania), CD Luanda Sul (Angola), Santa Rita CFC (Angola), and most recently, Township Rollers in Botswana.
