Caf Confederation Cup Play-off
Return leg, Saturday, April 15
Al-Masry vs KCCA (0-1)
Ismailia, 8pm
Ninety minutes stand between Egyptian side Al-Masry and KCCA of Uganda, and the group stage of the Total Caf Confederation Cup.
The two face off on Saturday in Ismailia with KCCA needing to avoid a two-goal margin defeat for the Ugandans to make the group stages.
Al-Masry, who fell to Derrick Nsibambi’s winner in the 1-0 first leg defeat in Kampala, must beat KCCA if they are to continue with their continental journey.
And KCCA manager Mike Mutebi expects Al-Masry to attack them, especially now that the Egyptians are at home.
“But we shall not sit back and watch them,” promised Mutebi, “We shall play our way and ensure we achieve our target of making the group stage.”
Shs990m awaits KCCA if they complete the job in Ismailia and progress to the group stage.
Al-Masry defender Ahmed Mansour said the best of coach Hassan Hossam’s side would be seen in Ismailia.
“They won 1-0 but we shall score many goals back home and win,” Mansour said after the first leg defeat.
Mutebi welcomes back from injury midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba and defender Timothy Awany, who he had ruled out of the tie on Monday. Defender Habib Kavuma also makes a return from suspension.
Elsewhere, Mutebi confirmed that in-form striker Derrick Nsibambi would start ahead of talismanic Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
