KCCA 4-0 Kitara
Mbarara City 3-1 Kyetume
Defender Peter Magambo was the unlikely source as KCCA easily saw off lowly Kitara 4-0 at MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday.
The centre back netted twice as manager Mike Mutebi’s men got some respite following uninspiring and mixed results that saw them lose two of their last five league games.
The victory played out in front of a handful of their fans at Lugogo saw them jump up to sixth on 17 points after 10 games.
That’s seven points behind StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) leaders and champions Vipers.
Magambo’s first of the match was actually the player’s first league goal for KCCA, which was served off a header on 11 minutes.
Bright Anukani doubled KCCA’s advantage five minutes into the second half from close range.
Completing his brace, Magambo made it 3-0 for the Kasasiro Boys with another header off Hassan Musana’s corner.
Second half substitute Andrew Samson Kigozi got the fourth for KCCA on the hour off Anukan’s assist.
In Mbarara City, the hosts beat Kyetume 3-1 with Henry Kitegenyi, Swalik Sseguya and Makweth Wol scoring. Saaka Sharif got Kyetume’s consolation.
