Thirteen-time Ugandan champions, KCCA, have parted ways with eight players as they continue preparations for the 2022/23 football season.
The eight are Andrew Samson Kigozi, Erisa Ssekisambu, Patrick Kaddu, Yassar Mugerwa, Davis Kasirye, Innocent Wafula, Joseph Bukenya and Gift Ali.
“As we continue preparations ahead of the 2022/23 season,” read in part a club statement on Wednesday
“The club has decided to part ways with eight (8) players,” continued the communication before going ahead to name the affected players.
“The club would like to thank the players for the memories over the years that they selflessly served and everyone at the club wishes them the very best for the future”
Kigozi joined the club at the beginning of the 2020/21 season on a signed a three-year contract but like Mugerwa, he has reportedly agreed with the club to mutually end their relationship.
Kasirye, whose contract expired at the end of June having joined on a one-year deal at the beginning of the 2021/22 season, scored seven goals.
Wafula, another one whose one-year contract will not be renewed, had five assists as a right full-back last season.
Ssekisambu, Kaddu and Bukenya have all run down their contracts, while Gift Ali’s second year option will not be exercised.
