KCCA put eight past Onduparaka

Tuesday result

KCCA 8-0 Onduparaka

Brian Aheebwa scored four and Sam Ssenyonjo three as KCCA annihilated Onduparaka 8-0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

This was reminiscent of a similar pummeling in 2017.

Then, former KCCA forward Allan Okello scored a hat-trick on his league debut in the 7-0 drubbing of the same opponents.

Largely different actors, but same script.

The resounding victory moves KCCA top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table on six points after two matches.

Having scored one in the opening 2-1 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars, Aheebwa moved his league tally to five goals in two games.

His strike-partner, Ssenyonjo, revelled in a hat-trick of his own to make it four goals in two matches.

Herbert Achai’s 40-yard cross also ended up in Onduparaka goalkeeper Augustine Opoka’s net as the hosts put the visitors to the sword.

It was largely a one sided affair, with little burden on the KCCA defence apart from one penalty appeal when Denis Iguma nudged an Onduparaka player down in the box.

Winger Samson Kigozi was unplayable on the right wing, while Ashraf Mugume coordinated very well with Gift Ali and Kezironi Kizito in the middle of the park.

Aheebwa and Ssenyonjo’s movement upfront, and execution, was simply too much for Onduparaka to live with.

Only Kabon Livin showed glimpses of appetite but he couldn’t go it alone.

Aheebwa put KCCA ahead on 18 minutes, when he powered home Ssenyonjo’s pass before Achai’s looping cross made it 2-0.

Aheebwa returned the favour on 30 minutes, teeing on Ssenyonjo for 3-0.

Ssenyonjo then buried home a rebound after Opoka spilled Aheebwa’s shot.

Aheebwa then benefitted from Kigozi’s brilliant evening, the striker stroking home a penalty for a 5-0 half time lead.

Ssenyonjo beat Opoka for 6-0 off a brilliant pass from Kezironi.

Aheebwa then controlled Achai’s pass before looping Opoka for KCCA’s seventh.

The striker’s before fourth and eighth of the match completed the commanding job.
