KCCA seek reaction, Giants in search for elusive victory

Friday December 18, 2020 Fixtures

  • Wakiso Giants Vs Soltilo Bright Stars – Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso

KCCA manager Mike Mutebi expects a reaction from his boys when they host URA at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo in one of only two fixtures on Friday as the league enters matchday five.

The Kasasiro lost their last outing 2-1 to rivals SC Villa and failure to beat the Tax Collectors will be detrimental to their chances of reclaiming the title from Vipers despite it being early in the season.

“We lost our last game and they won theirs so we need a reaction,” said Mutebi. “URA have always been a difficult challenge for us and they are coming off a good win so it’s going to be hard,” he added.

Sam Ssimbwa’s side have won two of the past three meetings including 2-1 at Lugogo in 2018/19 season.

KCCA have no Gift Ali, Moses Aliro, Bright Anukani and long term absentee John Revita for the game but Italian Mazzengo Lloro, Ashraf Mugume and on form Brian Aheebwa will be tasked with the job to guide the team to maximum points.

On the other hand, URA will hope Steven Mukwala and Said Kyeyune continue their fine form on the day.

At Wakiso, hosts Wakiso Giants will take on Soltilo Bright Stars in search for their first win.

The Purple Sharks are one of the unbeaten sides so far but have only managed draws in all four games.

Their day’s opponents meanwhile picked a vital win over MYDA in their last game.
