- KCCA Vs Police – StarTimes stadium, Lugogo 4.30pm
Muhammad Shaban will be the centre of attention when champions KCCA host table leaders Police at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.
The striker who was controversially approved to leave Onduparaka is set to make his debut in the arguably the biggest match on the day.
His parent club still insists they never approved the transfer but KCCA have the license and thus will feature.
Away from that, Mike Mutebi expects a good game but tough challenge from the Cops and admits they are not on top of the log by accident.
“We expect a good game against a good side,” he said. “They are not table leaders by accident but have been doing things right and had a very good pre-season,” he added before heaping praise on his opposite number, Abdallah Mubiru, a man he replaced at Lugogo.
“They have a very good coach who falls in my category of coaches who play good football.
About the game, Mubiru says his side are motivated by the chance to gauge self against the champions.
“The mere fact that we are facing champions is enough motivation,” he said. “They are good a team and we want to compete against the best so it will be a good encounter,” he added.
There are no injury worries for either side but Police will miss the services of goalkeeper Douglas Kisembo who is on loan and barred from facing his parent club.
KCCA are 5th on the log with 13 points from 8 games while Police have four more points and have also played one more game than the Kasasiro.
