KCCA 2-1 Tooro United

Allan Okello scored a stunning beauty to open his season account as KCCA fought off a resilient Tooro United 2-1 at StarTimes Stadium on Friday.

Patrick Kaddu scored KCCA’s winner while second half substitute Allan Kayiwa got Tooro’s consolation.

Tooro – mainly comprising of tested league players – could have scored three goals in the first half but for two goalline clearances and Steven Omvia’s wastefulness.

Okello punished them the other end with an eight-minute cracker from about 30 yards before Patrick Kaddu atoned from a corner after Joel Mutakubwa saved his spot kick after half time.

“It was not as much a performance as I would have liked but overall we played some good football,” said KCCA manager Mike Mutebi after the match.

Tooro coach Wasswa Bbosa picked positives for his Tooro side, who rebranded from Soana.

“You could see we had a strategy until Okello’s goal disorganised us. But we are encouraged after this.”
