KCCA stumble again

StarTimes Uganda Premier League

Tuesday result

KCCA 0-0 Proline

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA once again wasted a glorious opportunity to breathe in hard on leaders Vipers SC as they were held to a goalless draw by Proline at Lugogo on Tuesday.

With Vipers not in action until Friday when they face Wakiso Giants, victory for KCCA would have taken manager Mike Mutebi’s men to within a point of the leaders.

But like they did in the 1-1 draw with Express before recovering to beat Police 1-0 in their last outing, KCCA struggled to break down Proline here.

As a result, KCCA now trail Vipers, who top at 53 points and with a game in hand and six matches to go, by three, meaning coach Fred Kajoba’s men could open a six-mark lead on Friday.

This was always going to be a tough match for either side. While KCCA are chasing a championship, Proline are fighting for life and every point counts for them.

And fight they did, moving level on 22 points with fellow relegation strugglers Tooro United and Police. The point also lifted Proline up to second from bottom, with Tooro dropping to the basement.
