KCCA thrash SC Villa

Friday result

SC Villa 0-3 KCCA

KCCA subjected SC Villa to a 3-0 thrashing on the Jogoos first of five suspended home matches at Akii Bua Stadium in Lira on Friday.

A Gift Fred own goal and two strikes from Mohammed Ssenoga and Moses Waisswa ensured KCCA were home and dry.

The win lifts coach Morley Byekwaso’s KCCA to third place on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table on 16 points, two behind leaders Wakiso Giants, who have played a game more at nine.

Villa’s third defeat in nine games drops them to sixth on 14 points.

The Jogoos were playing their first of five home games at a neutral venue at Akii Bua Stadium in Lira.

They were sanctioned and deducted points last week for their fans violence in a game they lost to Wakiso Giants some fortnight ago.

As such, they are playing their next five games, now four, in Northern Uganda and not their registered home ground of Wankulukuku.

KCCA took full advantage of Villa’s woes, their early pressure forcing Jogoos captain Gift Fred into an own goal in the third minute.

Ssenoga doubled KCCA’s lead in the 32nd minute midfielder Waiswa stepped up proceedings with a beautiful free kick after Allan Okello was fouled.
