KCCA throw away lead in defeat to CNaPS Sport | CAF CL

Hosts CNaPS Sport scored at the death as they came from a goal down to beat KCCA 2-1 in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Following a goalless first half, striker Derrick Nsibambi put the visitors in the lead eight minutes after the break but the lead lasted on six minutes thanks to Ratolojanahary equaliser.

Nsibambi’s goal was assisted by substitute Paul Mucureezi who had replaced Allan Okello a minute earlier.

Ratolojanahary’s goal was from the spot after Filbert Obenchan handled in the area under intense pressure.

Mike Mutebi made further changes as they sought to retake the lead with experienced midfielder Ibrahim Sadam Juma replacing Lawrence Bukenya twenty minutes to the final whistle.

In the closing stages of the 90, Denis Okot came on for striker Muhammad Shaban as the Kasasiro went to defend the stalemate but then conceded in the third minute of additional time through Rafaralahy.

There was no more time to change the score line as the hosts took the first leg advantage.

The two teams meet in the return match at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo next weekend and a 1-0 win will be enough to see KCCA through to the pre-group stages.
