KCCA 2-2 URA
Giants KCCA and URA settled for a point after a four-goal thriller in the only league match played on the day in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
It was the visitors that led on two occasions through Feni Ali and Hamis Kiiza but were denied maximum points by goals from Isaac Muleme and Geoffrey Sserunkuma.
Third on the log with 41 points, URA took the lead inside fifteen minutes when Feni tapped home from close range after Kiiza’s effort was denied by the cross bar but Muleme, who had come on six minutes earlier for Paul Mucureezi levelled with a beautiful volley in the 38th minute.
The second half started as the first ended with the Tax Collectors the better side and deservedly led again through Kiiza who flicked the ball over Benjamin Ochan as Shafik Kagimu bagged an assist.
But the lead could only last six minutes as Geoffrey Sserunkuma scored from the penalty, sending goalie Alionzi Nafian the wrong way after Julius Ntambi handled the ball in the area.
The final whistle, from centre referee Alex Muhabi saw both side take home a point but KCCA overtake SC Villa at the summit on goal difference as both teams tie on 47 points.
KCCA have however played three games less than the record league holders who they face on Saturday in Masaka.
