Uganda’s continental representative KCCA and Vipers have finally known who they will face in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup respectively. The league champions have a tricky opponent in Angola’s Clube Desportivo 1º de Agosto in the preliminary round with defending champions, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns waiting at the next stage.

If the Kasasiro negotiate the two fixtures, they will become the first Ugandan side to reach the lucrative stages of Africa’s biggest club show piece that has now been increased from two to four groups to accommodate more teams in the groups.

For Vipers, Uganda Cup winners have a date against arguably an easier opponent at the preliminary stage in Comoros’ Volcan De Moroni Football Club and if they negotiate the tie, they play the victors between South African side Platinum Stars and Uniso Do Songo of Mozambique.

The first legs at the preliminary stage are scheduled to take place between 11th – 13th February 2017 with the return leg coming between 17th – 19th February 2016.
