Nyamityobora 0-1 Kirinya-Jinja

Bul 0-0 URA

Nelson Mandela was the hero for Kirinya as the Jinja side ended their winless run by beating struggling Nyamityobora 1-0 at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

Victory moves coach Charles Ayiekoh’s side two places up to ninth on as many points while Nyamityobora’s fifth defeat in seven matches keeps them just a place above relegation on four points.

Kirinya had lost to Onduparaka, drawn with Vipers and lost to Bright Stars – conceding nine goals along the way – coming into this fixture.

Coach James Odoch was desperate to improve Nyamityobora’s poor run of just one victory, a draw and five losses, and they marched the visitors until 32 minutes when Mandela pounced.

The Mbarara side, who are still playing their home matches at Wankulukuku because Kakyeka Stadium is not yet up the minimum required standards, have already conceded 10 goals. Strangely, their day’s tormentors have shipped in two more.

Elsewhere, URA moved one place up to seventh and Bul down to third following their goalless draw in Jinja.
