Kirinya Jinja Vs Police – Bugembe Stadium, Jinja
Kirinya-Jinja coach Charles Ayiekoh will not be on the touchline again when his team host Police in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) at Bugembe Stadium on Tuesday.
The tactician will be serving his final match ban before he returns to the dugout in their next match against Soana, the same team he was apprehended on for allegedly attacking match officials at the final whistle.
Against Proline on Saturday, Ayiekoh once again watched proceedings from the sidelines, and he was impressed with his boys’ resolve as Fred Amaku’s lone strike sealed all three points for Kirinya at Lugogo.
“We had a game plan and it worked out just right,” Ayiekoh told upl.co.ug, “The moment you allow Proline to play, you are finished.
“We didn’t and pressed them high. And once we scored, we knew we had it. Now we must carry the same spirit into our next game against Police.
“We want to pick as many points as possible so as to avoid the late relegation struggles. We want to finish in the top half of the table.”
Victory, Kirinya’s sixth in 16 matches, moved them three places up to seventh on 21 points, while defeat left Proline a place just above relegation on 17 points.
