Police 0-1 SC Villa
SC Villa have Ambrose Kirya to thank for ending their five-match winless streak on Tuesday.
The striker scored the only goal of the match at Kavumba as the Jogoos recovered from a 3-0 heavy defeat to URA on Sunday to pip 10-man Police 1-0.
Kirya struck three minutes from time to end 450 winless minutes and register Villa’s first maximum points in six matches.
Coming on the back of suspensions to five first team regulars including Jonathan Mugabi, Nicholas Sebwato, Misi Katende, Karim Ndugwa and Abdu-Karim Kasule for alleged indiscipline, the victory moves coach Ibrahim Kirya’s men two places up to sixth with 41 points.
Police, who had Yasin Mubiru sent off for foul play, have the same points as Villa but drop one down due to their inferior goal difference.
The Jogoos, as Villa are nicknamed, return to action on Friday when they host Sadolin Paints.
