Lweza Coach Ibrahim Kirya is the prime candidate to take over at URA following the axing for Kefa Kisala.

This was confirmed by the club in a statement that also saw them confirm partying company with Kisala who took over the Head coaching role in December 2015.

“URA Football Club has today (Monday) parted company with its Team Coach, Kefa Kisala.

Kefa has served as URA FC Head coach since December 2015…..” read part of the statement.
“Kirya Ibrahim is lined to replace him,” the statement continued in parts.

On Kisala’s sacking, new club chairman James Kizza’s says it was a tough decision to let go of Kisala who won the Mapinduzi Cup in 2015 and his contribution at the club remains enormous.

This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make last night to keep the interests of the club keep going forward; Kisala has brought discipline and a sense of working together in the team which the board appreciates.

Former Assistant Coach Ibrahim Kirya has been lined to replace Kisala; The Board will make no further comment until that process is completed.

Meanwhile, the statement comes out 24 hours to the league tie against Ibrahim Kirya’s Lweza FC at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

Assistant coach, James Odoch is expected to be in charge of the tie as the team seeks to return to winning ways.

Under Kisala in the 2016/17 season, URA have won 4, drawn 12 and lost 2 in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
