Wakiso Giants FC 1-3 Kitara FC
StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) new boys, Kitara FC, came from behind to dispatch Wakiso Giants 3-1 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Wednesday and return to the summit.
Denis Omedi, Brian Aheebwa and Jude Ssemugabi were on target for Kitara, relegating Titus Ssematimba’s opener for Wakiso to a consolation.
This was the newly-promoted side’s fifth successive victory, making them and BUL the only two teams to win all their opening matches.
Because of more goals scored (11 against BUL’s nine), Kitara dislodged BUL from the top. Both teams have 15 points apiece.
On their part, Wakiso have had a rather slow start, winning just once in five matches. The Purple Sharks lie 11th on four points.
On Wednesday, they looked like they could yet pick their second win when Ssematimba put them ahead on 27 minutes.
But Omedi, netting his third of the campaign, hit back after the half time break before Aheebwa made it 2-1 with 10 minutes left to play.
Ssemugabi put the victory beyond doubt with the third goal in the second minute of added time.
