SC Villa 3-0 URA

If this was an audition for the best two teams in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL), SC Villa would claim to have got the advantage over KCCA in the race for this season’s title.

This is after the Jogoos moved top of the log with a 3-0 home win over URA as KCCA failed to breakdown Masavu in Bugonga.

Villa lead standings on 36 points after 18 matches,  with Vipers and KCCA in second and third on 35 and 33 respectively.

Returning from injury, Martin Kizza was the star of the show, grabbing a grace and Yubu Bogere sealing the win.

Kizza broke the deadlock with an individual effort on the hour mark, cutting in from the left and beating his marker before dribbling past two others to shoot past a hapless Mathias Muwanga.

He completed his brace from the penalty spot nine minutes from time after Muwanga shoved Ambrose Kirya as he tried to recover following a poot clearance.

Substitute Bogere eliminated any slim hopes of a URA fight back when he got his fourth goal of the campaign and Villa’s third with an opportunistic strike on 87 minutes.
