BUL 2-1 Soltilo Bright Stars
Jerome Kirya scored a 69th minute winner as StarTimes Uganda Premier League leaders, BUL, came from behind to beat Soltilo Bright Stars 2-1 at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Wednesday.
The Pilsner Man of the Match, Kirya, had minutes earlier assisted Walter Ochora cancel out Shafic Kakande’s first half goal for Bright Stars.
BUL’s 11th win after 17 matches sees them open a five-point lead at the top having played a game more than second-placed Kitara.
Before Wednesday’s game, BUL had gone three league matches without a win.
On their part, Bright Stars’ sixth defeat leaves them in ninth place on 21 points.
In Njeru, Bright Stars had their antennas up when they opened up BUL, Issac Bugembe threading a through pass for Kakande, who whipped it in from inside the area for 1-0 on 42 minutes.
The hosts hit back on 54 minutes when Ochora headed home Kirya’s free kick at the far post.
Creator then turned scorer when Kirya let fly of a powerful shot from some 30 yards, which Bright Stars goalkeeper, Hassan Marovu, fumbled into his own net, for the winner.
