SUPL, Friday result
Tooro United 1-2 Bul
Bul stretched their lead at the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) summit by four points after beating Tooro United 2-1 in Fort Portal on Friday.
Musa Esenu and Robert Mukongotya were on target as coach Peter Onen’s men came from behind to not only win, but also end Tooro’s unbeaten run at home.
The hosts never lost a game at Buhinga Stadium last season before they relocated to Kampala for the reminder of the campaign to allow for renovations.
They have just returned to Fort Portal, but this time at St Paul’s Seminary Ground, which they opened with 1-0 victory over KCCA early this month.
And coach Wasswa Bbosa’s men thought they were on the way to registering another win here when Yoffesi Mubiru gave Tooro a first half lead.
But Esenu and Mukongotya struck back after the break as Bul registered their sixth victory out of eight matches, including the previous 3-0 thrashing of KCCA.
At 19 points, Bul now lead second placed SC Villa, who play on Saturday, by four.
Tooro’s fifth defeat leaves them in 10th place with as many points.
