Mbarara City 2-1 Bright Stars

Bul 1-2 KCCA

Ndejje University 2-3 Maroons

KCCA have opened up a five point lead at the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) summit following a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Bul in Jinja on Saturday.

This was one of only three wins in five league matches played on the day. The others were a five-goal thriller in Maroons 3-2 away victory at Ndejje and Mbarara City’s 2-1 triumph at home to Bright Stars.

The two Mutyabas, Muzamiru and Mike were on target as KCCA moved to 30 points, five head of Vipers. Vipers have, however, played two games fewer.

Muzamiru gave manager Mike Mutebi’s men the lead on 16 minutes before the former’s namesake doubled the advantage on the half hour.

Jean Pierre Kambale got Bul’s consolation 17 minutes from full time. Bul fell one to seventh on 19 points.

In Bombo, Noel Nasasira’s brace was not enough to salvage anything from the game as Ronald Orombi, Samson Mutyaba and Seif Batte ensured Maroons’ third win in 13 matches.

Maroons are a place above relegation on 13 points while Ndejje are just below them with five points fewer.

In Mbarara, it was all joy as Paul Mucureezi and Karim Ndugwa’s 16 and 61st minute goals handed City a 2-1 victory over Bright Stars to keep them fourth in standings with 23 points.

Augustine Kacancu got Bright Stars consolation 15 minutes from time as they dropped one to sixth on 19 points.
