SC Villa’s chances of adding to their 16 league titles hit a dead rock on Friday when they lost 1-0 to KCCA at Nakivubo.

The painful loss saw the record league champions remain 10th on the log with 36 points, a whopping 19 adrift of KCCA but the Jogoos can mathematically claim the trophy with wins in all their remaining seven games and hope KCCA loses their last two.

Speaking to Coach Ibrahim Kirya, he says the two losses against The Saints and KCCA have left everything out of their hands but says they will only give up when they are mathematically out.

“The two painful losses are hard to take but that’s football,” he told upl.co.ug. “However, we still have a slim chance but the race is out of our hands. But what is in our control, we can work on like winning our remaining games,” he added.

The Blues meet rivals Express in another highly anticipated clash on Tuesday and Kirya had this to say. “The two losses are now behind us. Focus now turns to the game against Express.”

Kirya also revealed that Umar Kasumba will miss the tie but Misi Katende is likely to start the game after missing the crunch tie against KCCA.
