Lweza beats Artland in buildup

Uganda Premier League club, Lweza F.C continued with their mid-season fine form, winning a second victory in four days.

On Saturday, the Kajjansi based club, who are christened ‘The Oranje’ overcame second division side, Artland-Katale 2-1 in a match played at Mashariki High School, off Entebbe road.

Following a barren first half, forward Yudah Mugalu and stylish midfielder, Rajab Kakooza scored two second half goals for Joseph Mutyaba’s coached club.

The Big League outfit fought gallantly and got the consolation through Eric Mutebi’s well converted penalty.

Lweza Public Relations Officer, Abdul Ssemugenyi believes the build ups are so important for the club ahead of the second round;

Such matches (friendly games) are useful to the team because they are helping us keep fit and test new players we got in the places of those who left

This is Lweza F.C’s second victory in the mid-season break after last week’s 4-2 victory over Kireka United on Liberation day.

The two clubs are preparing for the start of the second round of their respective leagues.
