Maroons see off Ondu for first win

Maroons finally won a game of football when they beat Onduparaka 2-1 in Luzira on Wednesday.

Solomon Walusimbi and Rashid Agau scored Maroons goals while Gaddafi Gadinho got Onduparaka’s consolation late on.

Victory lifted Maroons a massive three places up, and one out of relegation in 13th with five points.

Defeat for Onduparaka sees them drop further down to seventh on 11 points.

This was Asaph Mwebaze’s first home coming since he left Maroons to go coach Onduparaka.

The hosts opened the scoring through Walusimbi on 28 minutes before Agau doubled the advantage just after the hour.

Onduparaka did pull one back through Gaddafi Gadinho three minutes from time but the hosts held on for their first win of the season.
