Express 0-1 Maroons

Everyone of the 16 StarTimes Uganda Premier League teams has now lost at least one match after the remaining unbeaten side, Express, were stung by Maroons on Friday.

Solomon Walusimbi scored the winner as Maroons edged the Red Eagles 1-0 at a wet Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Maroons fourth win in eight matches has the Prison Warders in fifth place on 14 points, four behind leaders BUL, who have played a game fewer.

Coach James Odoch’s Express are a place and two points below Maroons. The Red Eagles were the only remaining unbeaten team in the league.

Well, until they met Maroons, whose all four wins have come away from home. So the odds were silently against the home side.

Walusimbi made sure just of that, powering through heavy legs and ground to drive forward, and on nearing the edge of the 18-yard area, drilled in a fierce shot that beat Abdu Kimera in Express goal for a 30th minute winner.
