Soltilo Bright Stars 0-0 Maroons
Maroons opened a one-point lead at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table after their goalless draw away at Soltilo Bright Stars on Tuesday.
The Luzira-based side, who opened their season with a 5-0 thumping of Busoga United on Saturday, now have four points from two matches.
But the guests to Kavumba Recreation Centre, Maroons, had to rely on goalkeeper Simon Tamale’s heroics to scrape away with a point.
They also wasted several chances against the Stars, a side coached by their former boss Asaph Mwebaze.
Both Fred Amaku and substitute Noel Nasasira, scorers in the 5-0 weekend win, fluffed well-presented chances to give Maroons the lead.
On their side, Bright Stars, who also drew goalless their opening match with Vipers, had their chances missed by Meddie Kyekyune, Kato Kizanyiro, Ibrahim Kasinde and Sam Ssenyonjo.
