StarTimes UPL Tuesday result
Maroons 1-0 Kyetume
Maroons recovered from their opening day 3-0 defeat to URA by beating newly promoted Kyetume 1-0 in Luzira on Tuesday.
Forward Rashid Agau scored the goal at the stroke of halftime when he headed into an empty net from a well taken cross from the right wing.
The win moves the prisons side to three points from two StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches. Kyetume are also on three following their opening day win over SC Villa.
The hosts bossed the better part of the game, and Abraham Tusubira and Solomon Walusimbi should have stretched the lead but for Joel Mutakubwa’s goalkeeping heroics.
Maroons coach Douglas Bamweyana was impressed with the three points but admits there is more work to be done.
“I am disappointed that we wasted so many keeper-to-beat chances but we will continue working hard,” he said.
