The Uganda Premier League has suspended Masavu manager cum assistant coach Joseph Mutyaba and Soana captain for four and two matches respectively.
The two are suspended on recommendation from the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel in regard to AUPL Match 20 Soana FC Vs Masavu FC that was played on Tuesday 19th September 2017.
According to the panel, Mutyaba won’t be on the touchline for the Entebbe based side for unsporting behaviour against match officials.
“Masavu FC team manager, Mutyaba Joseph is given a four match touchline ban for unsporting conduct towards the match officials…. Read part of the letter to Masavu CEO signed by Bernard Bainamani, the Uganda Premier League Chief Executive Officer.
“Mr Mutyaba Joseph is not allowed to access the dressing room while serving the ban {Article 30.8(iii)} of FUFA Competitions rules. This ban takes immediate effect. 2)
The former SC Villa and Express midfielder may face other sanctions with allegations that he tried to bribe the referees as per their report and this case has been forwarded to the FUFA Disciplinary Committee for further investigations.
“The case of referee’s allegations against Mr. Mutyaba Joseph that he wanted favour from the referee has also been forwarded to the FUFA Disciplinary Committee for further investigations and action.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Kizza’s two match ban results from his unsporting behavior as per the referee’s report.
“Soana FC captain, Ibrahim Kizza (Shirt 04) is suspended for two matches for threatening violence against the match officials (referee) and for unsporting behavior {Article 30.2 of FUFA Competitions rules}. This ban takes immediate effect.
Any party dissatisfied with this decision has a right to appeal to a higher FUFA judicial body within 48hours.
