Masembe bounces back in football, named Vipers Sporting Director

Former Fufa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Charles Masembe has bounced back in football as the Vipers SC Sporting Director.

Masembe, a former player, coach, referee and administrator replaces equally experienced Eddie Butindo in the position as the champions embark of re-energizing the technical wing.

“We are delighted to have appointed Charles Masembe,” club President Lawrence Mulindwa told the club website. “This is a role we have been keen to introduce into the structure for some time, and it has been in our strategic plan,” he added.

“We unveil Masembe as one of the most experienced and exposed football administrators because our dream is big and we want people like him that can help us archive our vision of becoming the first-class football club in Uganda and Africa.”

Masembe was equally delighted with the opportunity of serving what he termed as a big institution and wants to contribute to the big cause.

“It is an honour and privilege to join Vipers SC, an institution with big dreams. I have always admired to give my contribution to institutions with dreams and I have landed well in a place where I can also be helpful.”

Vipers will target title defence next season as well as good performances on the continent in the Caf Champions League.
