Wakiso Giants, Police and KCCA have secured vital victories to earn first leg advantage against their opponents in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 clashes.

The Purple Sharks beat Fufa Big League side Tooro United 5-1 at Wakissha with Ivan Bogere (X2), Viane Ssekajugo, Frank Ssebuufu and Rahmat Ssenfuka scoring their goals.

Marvin Oshaba pulled one back for Edward Golola’s visitors who now need to win by four goals to nil to advance in the return leg.

At the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, Police beat on form Soltilo Bright Stars 4-1.

Ben Ocen netted twice with Yusuf Ssozi and Derrick Kakooza scoring the other goals that turned Joseph Janjali would be equaliser into a mere consolation.

Before this encounter, Proline held on to beat Mbale Heroes 2-1 leaving the tie evenly poised for the return leg.

Elsewhere, Herbert Achai and Hassan Jurua scored for KCCA to edge Maroons 2-0 at Luzira in a game Pius Obuya missed a penalty.
