Mawejje returns to UPL, signs for Police

Uganda Cranes midfield gem Tonny Mawejje is back in the Uganda Premier League and has signed a two year deal with former champions Police FC.

The midfielder joins the Cops after his expiry of his contract with Kuwait Al Arabia SC.

Mawejje, who featured for Police in 2006 helping the club win the 2006 CECAFA Kagame Cup says he wants to rekindle the beautiful memories at the club.

“I am happy to be back at a club I call home,” said Mawejje at his unveiling. “I have so much history with this team. From way back in 2006 when I first joined this team and we went for CECAFA club championship and managed to win the trophy. The trophy meant so much to my career and it added a lot to me personally.”

“I have so much history with Police FC and am here to reunite with the family because to me Police is a family. I have so many great memories here and I hope to build even more,” he added.

He becomes the first signing for Abdallah Mubiru’s side in the window.
