Third-placed Mbarara City continued their impressive season by dispatching Maroons 2-0 in Luzira on Tuesday.
Makweuth Wol and Ivan Eyam were the heroes as their goals confirmed Mbarara’s ninth victory in 17 matches.
Only 12-time league winners KCCA and reigning champions Vipers have won more.
Victory moved the Ankole Lions to 32 points, eight behind leaders KCCA and five adrift of Vipers.
The visitors were in command from the start, with South Sudanese striker Wol punishing custodian Ashadu Bugembe’s awful mistake on 10 minutes.
The final nail in Maroons coffin was delivered by Eyam after a clever interplay between Paul Mucureezi and Ibrahim Orit.
