Mbarara City came from two goals down to beat champions Vipers 3-2 at Kitende to dent the Venoms title chances.

Solomon Okwalinga, Bashir Mutanda and Jude Semugabi scored the visitors to cancel out two first half goals from Yunus Sentamu and Paul Mucureezi.

Sentamu put the hosts in the lead after sixteen minutes and Mucureezi doubled the lead in the 32nd minute.

Okwalinga cut the deficit with a strike from a penalty after Paul Willa handled in the area in the 57th minute and Mutanda made it 2-2 with a belter in the 64th minute before Semugabi won it four minutes to full time.

Defeat leaves Vipers third on the log with 53 points with five games to play after Express beat Busoga United 4-0 to go top.

In other games, Bul fell 2-1 to on form Wakiso Giants with Abdul Kimera (own goal) and Viane Ssekajugo scoring for the Giants while Joseph Ssemujju scored the visitors’ consolation.

MYDA were beaten 3-1 at Kitara thanks to goals from Isaac Tumusiime (brace) and Stewart Mwesigwa before Peter Mutebi pulled one back for the visitors in Masindi.

The two stay bottom of the league with Kitara at the base with 13 points, one point and place below MYDA.

Elsewhere, Onduparaka were held to a goalless draw by visiting Bright Stars to remain 11th with 28 points while Stars are now 5th with 42 points.
