Three Mbarara City players have been banned for four games for unsporting behavior.
Yesseri Waibi, goalkeeper Ali Kimera and midfielder Swaliki Ssegujja are the players who must miss four games after they attacked the referee in the 1-0 loss to Kirinya Jinja SS in Bugembe on Wednesday November 15.
“AUPL match#87 Kirinya Jinja SSS FC Vs Mbarara City FC match officials’ reports indicated that players Waibi Yeseri (Shirt No 3), Kimera Ali (Shirt No 1), and Ssegujja Swaliki (Shirt No 8) attacked the center referee after the match……” read part of the ruling addressed to Mbarara City CEO.
“DECISION The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel resolved that this act contravened article 30 of FUFA Competitions Rules 2017/18.
Accordingly, the trio was found guilty and sanctioned as per article 30.8(iii) of the FUFA Competitions Rules 2017/18 and are to serve a suspension of FOUR (4) AUPL matches for UNSPORTING BEHAVIOR towards a match official.
The Ankole Lions, 9th on the 16 team log with 19 points after 15 games have a chance to appeal the decision if not satisfied.
