Mbarara 1-0 Onduparaka
Mbarara City on Wednesday earned a vital 1-0 victory over Onduparaka at Kakyeka Stadium to move five points clear of relegation threatened Express.
Express are currently occupying the final relegation spot on the table on 27 points.
With one game left, Mbarara are now 11th with 32 points but the Ankole Lions have played two more games than Express.
Onduparaka were, however, left aggrieved with referee Muzamir Waiswa for awarding a 29th minute penalty for an adjudged foul on Bebe Sseguja, who they claim was outside the box.
“The match was good but it seems there are no football rules in Mbarara. We do not mind losing if officiating is fair,” fumed Onduparaka coach Leo Adraa.
Nigerian striker Emmanuel Ibe Obina converted the resulting penalty, the fifth his side have been awarded in as many homegames.
“Why we waste our time and spend money to travel when referees are officiating like this. It seems they are doing it deliberately,” Adraa added.
Onduparaka remain fourth on 45 points and one game to go.
