Express stayed top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table on Saturday despite not kicking a ball on the day.
This is after Mbarara City ended Vipers 11-match unbeaten run with 1-0 victory over the Venoms at Kakyeka Stadium in Western Uganda.
Henry Kitegenyi scored the all-important goal on 50 minutes for Mbarara’s only third win in 12 matches.
Mbarara are now 12th with 13 points, while Vipers remain second on 27 points, one behind leaders Express. Both Express and Vipers have played 12 matches apiece.
At Bul, Viane Ssekajugo’s 88th minute goal was enough for Wakiso Giants to take all three points, Alex Komakech providing the assist.
Emmanuel Okech was the hero at Kavumba, scoring on 21 minutes for Onduparaka to edge hosts Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0.
Elsewhere, SC Villa and Police played out a 2-2 draw in Bombo for both teams to stay sixth and fourth respectively.
Fourth placed Police have 23 points, while Villa have five fewer.
Ssenoga Muhamed and Goffin Oyirwoth scored for Villa while Johnson Odong and Henry Kisekka got Police’s goals.
