Kyetume 1-3 Mbarara City
Kyetume edged closer to relegation from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) after going down 3-1 to Mbarara City on Wednesday.
A brace from striker Henry Kitegenyi and another goal by Hillary Mukundane settled it for Mbarara while Richard Matovu got Kyetume’s consolation from a penalty spot.
Kyetume’s 14th defeat of the season keeps them third from bottom on 23 points, three off safety, with just three games left.
Mbarara, picking their 10th victory in 27 games, are seventh on 38 points.
The visitors raced into a 2-0 half time lead inside the 26th and 28th minutes when Kitegenyi and Mukundane struck.
The former completed his double and Mbarara’s third goal six minutes after the restart.
Kyetume’s consolation came in added time from the penalty spot, Matovu converting it.
