Proline 2-2 Bright Stars

Proline made it four straight draws in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) after Simon Mbazira struck a second half penalty to salvage a point in the 2-2 stalemate with Bright Stars at Lugogo on Saturday.

Gift Ali scored Proline’s other goal while Baker Lukoya and Victor Oweko struck for the visitors.

The result leaves Proline 10th with just four points from as many games, while Bright Stars drop one to seventh on five points, thanks to URA’s 3-1 victory over JMC.

Proline came into this tie looking for their first three points of the season to mark their return to topflight football. Bright Stars were eying their second victory.

They were well headed for it after twice going ahead. Lukoya gave them a 16th minute lead from the spot kick but Ali pegged them back.

And just when Bright Stars thought they had it at the break, thanks to Victor Oweko’s strike, the visitors conceded a penalty which Mbazira duly dispatched to ensure Proline remain unbeaten.
