Uganda Cranes Head coach Johnathan McKinstry has named the final squad of the UPL stars for Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 Finals to be held in Cameroon from 16th January to 7th February 2021.
Unlike previous tournaments, the team has 25 players and not the usual 23.
Vipers’ Halid Lwaliwa will skipper the team in Cameroon as The Cranes battle Morocco, neighbours Rwanda and tournament debutants Togo.
From the squad already in Cameroon, Wakiso Giants Hassan Ssenyonjo, URA’s Ashraf Mandela, Bul’s Joseph Ssemujju and URA’s Steven Mukwala have been dropped.
KCCA’s quartet of Charles Lukwago, Denis Iguma, Bright Anukani and Brian Aheebwa will join the squad immediately after conclusion of their Caf Confederation Cup duty against AS Kigali.
The Cranes face Niger in their last game of the PRE-CHAN tournament on Thursday before travelling to Douala on Friday 8th January 2021, where they will hold another training camp for one week ahead of the group stage matches.
