Uganda Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic is satisfied with how his players are responding since the national team started training ahead of their World Cup campaign.

The Cranes open their Qatar campaign away to Kenya on September 2 in Nairobi. Rwanda and Mali are the other teams in Group E.

The current team training with Micho in Kampala is predominantly full of StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL), who are pushing for places with professionals ahead of the final squad.

And Micho is impressed with what they are producing so far.

“We have had a great week of training with sessions in the gym and on the field,” Micho said after one of the sessions.

“The players have showed intent to deliver and this is good. We shall continue to monitor the performance for everyone on the team.’

Uganda will host Mali at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende only four days after the Nairobi encounter with Kenya.

The players are using Sunday for complete recovery after a full week of non-stop training.

Uganda will face Ethiopia this coming Sunday before flying to Nairobi for the September 2 do.
