Former KCCA, Proline and Vipers coach Abdallah Mubiru has replaced Sam Timbe at Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) side, Police FC.Timbe left the club mid-way the first round of the league following an appalling start to the campaign where they were languishing in relegation.
His assistant Angelo Lonyesi was left in charge till the end of the first round guiding the 2005 league champions to 13th on the log with 14 points but Asan Kasingye, the club chairman believes Mubiru will do a good job to see the club reclaim its glory.
In an announcement by Kasingye, Mubiru comes in with his assistant John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda and James Magala as the goalkeeping coach.
“I am happy to announce the signing of the trio of Abdallah Mubiru (Head Coach), John Luyinda (Assistant) and James Magala (goalkeeping coach) for Police FC with effect from today until 2019.
Luyinda and Mubiru have worked together since their days at KCCA and they were also together at Vipers before losing the job less than six months after being hired.
Magala is a former national team goalkeeper and was also a star at Express FC while his significance in the coaching career was at Masaka LC.
The trios’ first task will be to save the 2005 league champions from going down.
