Wednesday October 31
- KCCA Vs Mbarara City – StarTimes stadium, Lugogo 4.30pm
KCCA have a chance to dislodge champions Vipers from top spot but must beat Paul Mucureezi’s Mbarara City at Lugogo on Wednesday.
The former immediate champions go into the game seeking a third win on the trot against a side they failed to beat last season in both encounters.
“It will be a good game,” said Mike Mutebi, the KCCA manager. “Last season, we drew home and away and this cost us the title,” he added.
Mutebi feels last season’s controversial decision to nullify Jackson Nunda goal as well as Mucureezi being on the opponents’ team will even make the encounter more interesting.
“There was some controversy in officiating this particular game that cost us title. Add that to Mucureezi, our former player being on the other end also makes the game one to watch out for.
The hosts will miss the services of Muzamiru Mutyaba and long term injured teammate Gift Ali but have Allan Okello, Allan Kyambadde and Patrick Kaddu to rely on for goals.
Obviously, Mbarara City will rely on Mucureezi for inspiration against former pay masters.
A win will take KCCA to the top of the log, same points with Vipers who drew 2-2 with Kirinya Jinja SS but better goal difference.
