Uganda 5-1 South Sudan

Paul Mucureezi struck four and Derrick Nsibambi scored the other as Uganda Cranes walloped South Sudan 5-1 to set up date against Rwanda’s Amavubi in the CHAN 2018 qualifiers.

Nsibambi opened the scoring for the hosts at a fully packed Lugogo with a brilliant header off Nicholas Wadada cross from the right in the 33rd minute.

But the celebrations were cut short following a collision with the visitors’ goalkeeper in the process and three minutes later, he paved way for man of the match Mucureezi.

The KCCA midfielder didn’t take long to announce his presence with a well taken goal after getting at the end of a sublime Moses Waiswa pass in the 43rd minutes.

It ended 2-0 at half time and after just three minutes into the second half, Mucureezi scored his second and Uganda’s third goal as Milton Kariisa bagged an assist.

The KCCA attacker got his third on the day with a beautiful finish off Muzamiru Mutyaba ball and he completed his fantastic day with a fourth goal in the 57th minute getting at the end of Shafik Kagimu ball.

Leon Khamis was the only goal scorer again as he slotted past a static Ismail Watenga for a consolation strike that send the travelling fans into wild celebrations.
