KCCA 1-0 Maroons

KCCA maintained their eight point lead at the summit thanks to a late goal from Paul Mucurezi that earned them maximum points against Maroons.

The two sides struggled to impose authority in the game that saw little opportunities created by either.

KCCA Coach Mike Mutebi started with two forwards in Nelson Senkatuka and Derrick Nsibambi but they struggled against a well organised backline that was missing skipper Sylvester Okello.

Mutebi made changes after the break introducing Emma Magembe for Senkatuka and later Herman Wasswa for Nsibambi but the visitors still stuck to their game despite conceding numerous corners.

He later threw on Mucurezi for Muzamiru Mutyaba and the change paid dividends as the former netted home the winner in the first minute of addition time after Jamal Maliyamungu had saved from Denis Okot shot.

The win increases KCCA’s points to 47 while Maroons stay at the bottom with 13 points.
