SC Villa 1-1 KCCA

Benson Muhindo scored a late penalty to salvage a point for home side SC Villa as the Jogoos drew 1-1 with KCCA at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Saturday.

But bar that late drama, it was largely a lethargic match with no side showing industry and resolve.

StartTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table leaders KCCA were on course to claiming all three points after Rogers Mato’s 70th minute opener only for the late drama to spoil their party.

Both goalkeepers, Benjamin Ochan of KCCA and Villa’s Martin Nsereko had early work to do, each saving from Saddam Masereka and Denis Iguma respectively.

But there was no stopping Mato with 20 minutes to go, the forward at the end of a KCCA attack for a 1-0 lead.

However, drama ensued in the dying minutes when the referee adjudged Muhindo to have been fouled in KCCA’s box, the striker standing up to beat Ochan from the penalty spot.

Villa stay in the 12th position on the 16-team table with 10 points in as many matches while KCCA maintain their top-spot on 27 points.
